Calm Water Color Storm is a curated visual monograph capturing the artwork of Janavi M. Folmsbee. I led the design as Director & Visual Storyteller — shaping the book’s visual flow, narrative, and editorial architecture to reflect the depth, movement, and emotional resonance of her mixed-media work. Rather than simply presenting images, the design functions as an immersive gallery-in-print that invites museums, galleries, collectors, and art enthusiasts into a tactile experience of the artist’s world. Every compositional decision — from scale and rhythm to space and structure — was intentional, translating the inherent energy of Folmsbee’s art into a format that feels as dynamic as the underwater landscapes that inspire her. The result is a publication that not only showcases the work but elevates it, offering a compelling narrative experience rooted in sensitivity, craft, and artistic respect.
